Chloride process TiO₂ is a high-grade rutile-type titanium dioxide made via the chlorination–oxidation route, the international mainstream process for high-end applications.
🔧 How it’s made (brief)
1. High-grade titanium ore (rutile/high-titanium slag) reacts with chlorine at high temperature → titanium tetrachloride (TiCl₄).
2. Purified TiCl₄ is oxidized at ~1,000°C → TiO₂ powder.
3. Continuous surface treatment → finished product.
