The volume of new orders in the market is limited.The key factors affecting the current market price change1. Inventory: the mainstream manufacturer inventory is low, there are still early delivery orders, it is expected that today's spot inventory is still low, and the mainstream factory spot is tight.2. Mentality: the buyer has to prepare goods in advance, and the new order price is slightly less willing to purchase in bulk; Because the seller's inventory is small, the manufacturer has no willingness to reduce the price of sales, and the demand for new orders in the market is relatively large.Trend: The load of titanium dioxide enterprises is stable, the willingness to ship at low prices is not strong, and the downstream buyers still have inventory digestion, and the intention to supplement orders in the short term is limited. It is expected that the titanium dioxide market today just needs to stabilize the price, and the market trading atmosphere is more general.

This week, the Chin white powder market as a whole showed a weak consolidation trend, and the Shanghai International Coatings Exhibition had a certain impact on the market price. Up to now, the average price of the industry is 16,635 yuan/ton, a decrease of 0.69% from last week. At present, the mainstream price of the domestic market varies due to different types, and the mainstream factory price including tax of rutile type, sharp type and chloride method is 15600-17000 yuan/ton, 14500-15000 yuan/ton and 17800-18500 yuan/ton, respectively.

The updated evaluation revises the outcome of EFSA’s previous assessment published in 2016, which highlighted the need for more research to fill data gaps. Prof Maged Younes, Chair of EFSA’s expert Panel on Food Additives and Flavourings (FAF), said: “Taking into account all available scientific studies and data, the Panel concluded that titanium dioxide can no longer be considered safe as a food additive . A critical element in reaching this conclusion is that we could not exclude genotoxicity concerns after consumption of titanium dioxide particles. After oral ingestion, the absorption of titanium dioxide particles is low, however they can accumulate in the body”.

It’s also used in plastics, papers, ceramics and paints.Although the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) considers it safe for consumption, other organizations question its potential adverse effects.For that reason, it’s best to avoid food products containing the additive when possible and take precautions if you work in a setting that allows for frequent exposure to titanium dioxide particles.
